question about memory....

Post by Midi maniac »

is adding more memory going to reduce the time DP needs to save a project...right now with 5GB and using a huge orchestral template, takes about 13 seconds to complete the save action...
Thanks

I have 16GB and on my template of about 130 MIDI tracks running 13 VE Pro instances, it still takes about 20 seconds to save. I wonder if MOTU could make a more efficient way to save large files like this.

But I do understand that its a lot to save, considering it has to save all the info for those 130 instruments. Hopefully MOTU will figure something out.

Thanks for your reply..
I guess it has to do also with the hard drive, how fast it is, how empty or full and also how you have distributed your libraries to different drives?
Am I right?

Hmmm VE Pro is something like Plogue bidule, right?

I am wondering if you have every native instrument through rewire Plogue bidule, if the save action would take less time....
I guess not?
