Post by lowpez@hotmail.com »

Hi, I'm new in the forum, hope this is the right place for this question: Can I send 8 ADAT channels to a Yamaha 01v96 via optical out? ...I just get to send two.

Thanx lot for the help

Well, it all depends on what you are sending from, but yes, the 01v96 built-in optical is ADAT compatible, which means 8 channels via lightpipe at 44.1 or 48kHz.

I connected the Traveller & the yamaha. No problem getting the 8 ADAT tracks from the yamaha into the motu wich I appreciate a lot beeing able to record 16 channels at once. But I would like to extend the yamaha's 16 channels for a live gig and I only get to send 2 channels from the motu (via lightpipe). Can I send 8 ADAT channels (17-24 in yamaha)?

...thanx to all

Yes, I think we have an amazing football team!!

Yes, of course you can. You probably don't have enough output bundles created, or don't have your traveller setup correctly. According to page 71 of your 01v96 users manual...

• ADAT IN connector
This TOSLINK connector accepts 8-channel ADAT optical format signals, which can be patched to any Input Channel (page 121).
• ADAT OUT connector
This TOSLINK connector outputs an 8-channel ADAT optical format signal. You can patch any Bus Outs or Input Channel Direct outs to this output (page 123).

Thanx for the answer, I have no problems configuring the Yamaha. It's in the traveller cuemix console where I can't find more than 2 adat or toslink outputs at once. Maybe configuring 2 outs in every bus? ...I would apreciate ideas or when you know how to do it steps to follow.
Thanx again

Ok, I've got it. It's a bit messy but it works:

YAMAHA: DIO/SETUP Word clock ADAT 1-2. IN PATCH Channel 17 = ADAT 1
MOTU: clock source: Internal, Optical Output ADAT
MOTU settings:
BUS 1: Panning input 1 & 2 completely -64 L & 64 R. Output ADAT 1-2 (rest of faders down)
BUS 2: Panning input 3 & 4completely -64 L & 64 R. Output ADAT 3-4 (rest of faders down)
...same with the other busses

I get all instrumets mono in their own channel in Yamaha

Hope it's good information for everybody

greetings
