I have a PC running Windows 7 64 bit with my MOTU 896HD. I want to be able to use the MOTU as the default audio device for when I need to check something out in iTunes/You Tube etc..I have the latest MOTU drivers installed and the PC is brand new. It's custom made for audio only and the default Windows drivers for the onboard sound were not even installed. When I visit the control panel and click on "Sounds" I do not see the MOTU listed as a device. Can anyone shed some light on this?
Thanks in advance,
Josh

Re: Windows 7 default audio device
I haven't got a 896HD. I do have a UltraLite running under Vista 64 bit.
So just to get us started.
Unlike on board audio devices the MOTU playback & recording devices do not show up in Sound Manager unless the drivers have been installed, the MOTU device is correctly connected to the PC and the power switched on.
You are probably going to need to provide more info. if that's not it.
A screen shot of the driver details as installed via device manager would help. Start> control Panel> hardware & sound> Device manager> Sound Video & game controllers> ( properties> driver>driver details)x3
