Ultralite Mk3 Hybrid recording issue

Post by nbshif »

My issue is that it seems like there is a limiter on all my inputs (xlr and trs ins) I can't seem to get above -20db while recording in reaper. So basically my levels are super low and the more I turn them up the more distortion I get.

I've tried everything in the cuemixfx software, I made sure no compressors or limiters were on. I'm not sure where else to look. Everything else seems to be working great though.

If this helps, I'm running Windows 7 x64

Any help would be greatlllyyy appreciated. Thanks, Brett

Have you tried resetting the interface to its factory default settings? Then you can be sure that all of the effects processors are disabled.

Thank you for the response! Still can't get it to work...

I couldn't find in the manual how to restore factory settings, but I did load up preset 1 in the cuemix software (which I didn't save) and it seems to have brought up the original settings.

I've been using a cheap Behringer interface and a mixer to record, and it's working fine enough, but I'd love to fix my Ultralite :(

The factory default reset is in the Setup menu on the front panel of the interface.

Hi,

I have this problem too. Reset does solve it but the problem will return now and then. I don't know what it is but it's driving me crazy. This afternoon i installed the latest drivers and 5 minutes later while working on a project the problem happened inbetween takes while i didn't change any settings on the Ultralite.

I also have this problem with cracks and pops in playback and recording. I have an Intel i3 with 4 gb of ram and a Gigabyte motherboard. All A-brand stuff and the crackles stay even when i'm in a buffer of 512 which gives me a latency of 14ms i mean come on. It's hardly workable doing vocals with such a latency.

Sorry for the back-to-basics question but I want to be sure... "V-Limit" and "Soft Clip" are off, right?

Dave, I noticed you're asking about another problem too... Are you using firewire or USB with your Ultralite Hybrid?

I have the UltraLite connected thru USB. Would you think Firewire would get rid of the clicks?

Cheers,

Dave
