Hello,
After upgrading to DP7.1 at home, I opened the instruments demo project just to show someone and the baseline instrument was popping and clicking. Couldn't seem to solve it so I installed DP on my office intel iMAC (OSX 10.5.8 ) and it's doing it there also.
At home (PPC OSX 10.4.11 & latest PCI audio driver) my AppleDLSmusic synth is fuzzy when I initiate play but is OK after a few seconds.
The intel iMAC is OK with the apple synth (built in audio).
SO............. Would some of you guys please take the time to open the demo project and post your results of this simple test? Does the baseline sound OK? I don't remember anything like this before the upgrade

Yeah, there's a problem with Bassline and Modulo; maybe others as well. It started with DP 7.1. I'm assuming that MOTU knows about this and will fix it, but it wouldn't hurt to add your name to the list. I sent them a letter with multiple problems to fix, but I haven't heard if anyone even read it.
