Do any of you use Audio Hijack Pro with DP? If so, for what purposes?
Thanks

I use it to record the output of the Mac's speech function (such as with MS Word docs) or snippets of speech from the Internet that I then mangle or vocode.

same here, plus some sound generators that don't have a record function, etc.

Actually I use it for all sorts of stuff, but in terms of DP I use it to record the output of VIs in Plogue Bidule as I can't seem to find a way to bounce or freeze or record them in real time. But it's also good to record output from websites when you can't otherwise save a sound source, etc., as well as from some iTunes tracks when you need a snippet of something. It is pretty robust and your plugs from the component folder can be applied as well. That and Audio Finder are well worth the shareware price. Snapper is also a good tool for auditioning sounds on the fly, grabbing a section and exporting it quickly.

I use it as a virtual analog 2 track... just like the ol' days where you actually listened to the mix down in real time. I use the SSL Duende and it's broke in DP so I have to freeze the tracks in order to BTD so instead, I just use AHP to capture DP's outputs and it's saved me tons of disk space, work and misery... plus being able to hijack other applications @ the same time by capturing the Macs audio outputs.

The easiest way is to rewire them back into DP. If you are not using Bidule in Rewire mode, then you may would able to route the outputs back into DP using Jack OS X or soundflower.

It is in rewire mode but I haven't been able to figure out how to get it back in.

Ahh... it's possible then that you are not in Rewire mode within DP...

Things to check:

1) In the Plogue workspace... are you using an output labeled "Rewire" or is the output using the name of your audio interface? If it is the latter then you are not in Rewire mode.

2) In the Plogue Palette you will see a "Rewire Device" listing under Available Bidules only when you are in Rewire mode.

In DP:

Add an Aux track to your project and set the inputs to "Plogue Bidule Device:Bidule 1-2"
then start Bidule and it will open in Rewire mode. Anything you route to outputs 1-2 in Bidule will be sent to DP through that Aux (also works with an Input channel)

MLC...

Be sure to launch Bidule all by itself at least one time and check "Enable Rewire Mixer" in the Rewire tab of Bidule's preferences if you haven't already done so for all this to work.

I think I am only using the interface, not rewire output. Duh! Thanks, I'll have to sort this out tomorrow. I appreciate your time in spelling this out for me. Thanks!
