Automation Snapshots and clearing it
So, i just recently discovered automation snaps, remember reading about it years ago and saying, na, i won't ever use that. As you can imagine, when i started the track, i got a little overzealous. Now, i have about 40 parameters that have absolutely no automation, and even insert automation for plugs that aren't even there anymore. I checked in automation setup, and back in the snapshot window, but is there anyway to kill all of this stuff without actually disabling the type?

Re: Automation Snapshots and clearing it
I would use the view filter (command-F) to hide everything I DIDN'T want to erase, then I would select all of the tracks I wanted to delete stuff from (command-A in the TO window,) and hit backspace. (Then go back to the view filter and turn everything back on.)
Works like a charm for deleting masses of stuff on multiple tracks!
For future ref, when doing automation snapshots, I always hide everything but the volume and pan before I take the snap (in the mini-menu)and then use the "only data types shown in mixer" option when the dialog comes up. You can add other stuff later, if neccessary.
I bet other people here have better ways of doing it all of these things, but these work for me.

Re: Automation Snapshots and clearing it
.
I basically do it the same way.
Remember you can save sets of the stuff you usually want to see in the View Filter, so coming back to whatever items you had visible is just a matter of selecting them from the preset list. You can save as many viewable states as you wish.
In the future, you can choose before-hand what plug-in parameters you want to include in the snapshots BEFORE you take them. Just go to the Automation Setup and press Option-click on the "Only" check box (in the right side of the window, in the Enable Automation Types section) and everything will become unselected in one step, and from there, you can choose only the plug-in parameters you wish to include in the snapshots (you can save them too). You will see them listed by plug-in.
Then, just press the Snapshot button in the plug-in window, and select "Active Data Types in Effects Window".
This way, the Snapshot will only include the plug-in parameters you chose in the previous window, and this will save you from accumulating unused stuff in the snapshots and having to delete them afterwards.
If you are going to be visiting the Automation Setup window often, then obviously it makes sense to assign it a convenient shortcut.

See? I knew someone had a better way. I didn't know about the "only" option, FM. Thanks!FMiguelez wrote:.
