I thumbed through the big book and done a couple of searches of the forum in search of the answer.
I did a rough mix of a song with some volume and efx send automation. When I got home, there was a message to removed part of the long intro. Easy enough. When I got done, I realized the automation moves didn't move with the audio. I had to go through and drag everything by hand.
Have I missed something? In Logic, anytime you move a chunk of audio, it asks if you want the automation to move too. This is the first time I've run into this situation while working in DP.
I made a quick jump from DP 5to DP 7 because I didn't want to change in the middle of a big album project. While we were working the last two days, I was trying to help one of the band members get up to speed with DP, and I realized how much has changed, so I'm learning as I teach. The manual is always on my knee, but the info isn't all in the memory yet. To confuse the issue (me) I'm doing a film project in Logic after a long time away from that platform. My head hurts.
thanks

Well, unless something has gone wrong, normally the controller info moves with the audio moves if you select by range. If you select MIDI notes or drag a soundbite, the automation will not move with it.

.
When you cut things with Snip, everything moves as expected... most of the time.
And as usual, Time Range selections are KEY.

Re: Volume Automation - editing with Audio
Great.... I just dragged the sound bites. I'll have a look at it tomorrow. It seemed like it should be easy, but I was looking for "automation editing".
I got the book out before I went to bed last night... Snip! Where have you been all my life? I knew if we'd met, it would be magic. And your friend Splice. What a bunch of cut ups.
(edit)
Now that I've tried it, I can't believe how easy that is. In the past I've cut and then dragged all the tracks over to the new edge. I did a test, and found I had to move the automation break points out past the right edge of the cut to preserve the proper continuity of the automation.
You really do learn something everyday.
thanks people
