Automatic Articulation Switching for VSL in Notion SLE

I didn't get around to reading the full product description of Notion SLE ($89) until tonight, and am now quite curious whereas before I had somewhat dismissed this announcement.

Notion SLE is a special version of Notion 3 that is customized for Vienna Symphonic Library's Special Edition and Special Edition PLUS. It features presets created for Vienna Instruments, Vienna Ensemble, and Vienna Ensemble PRO.

The Notion SLE presets automatically handle all articulation changes in the background.

As Notion is not MIDI based and thus is able to provide up to 1000 levels of resolution for parameters, I have a feeling the switching will be done very smoothly and precisely.

What is not clear, is whether there is any way to take advantage of Notion SLE with larger sets of VSL products (libraries plus Vienna Suite). Or what owners of regulat Notion 3 do with their usual workflow.

I haven't visited the Notion website yet for additional details and/or audio demos.

It's worth checking out though, as it may be helpful to some Vienna Special Edition owners at the very least, if not to full library owners (and full Notion 3 owners).

There's some talk about this at vi-control as well, with the consensus being that Notion renders better with EWQLSO and Miroslav than with VSL, but I don't know if those comments were made relative to using ReWire with vanilla Notion (and whether version 2 or version 3), or by people who have already bought this new specially tailored product for VSL rendering.
