Cheap or free plugs that you feel rock!

Post by csiaudio »

Chances are this has been listed before but as we all know things change so fast.

List any plugs that you feel rock that are cheap (say under $100), free, donation, group buys or current hot deals.

I'll start: A very excellent EQ LP10 at http://www.ddmf.eu/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

It is donationware and if you don't have it you should try it out it is extremely smooth and transparent. I was truly impressed it doesn't sound like a typical digital EQ.

ApTrigga2 by ApulSoft.

http://www.apulsoft.ch/aptrigga/

An incredible tool for the price (35 euros / 53 USD).
In conjunction with the drum library of your choice (I use drumcore)it's a great way to beef up a kik, snare or tom track in seconds.

I repair, mix and complete a fair amount of projects that were started in budget studios to "save money". Often times the drums were recorded in less than ideal circumstances with low ceilings, poor gear selection, bad micing techniques (yes, bad as in evil...) etc.

ApTrigga2 lets me maintain the original performance but blend in properly recorded samples to enhance the track and stop the bleeding(of my ears while I try to mix).

Tal effects and instruments.
Amazing stuff and almost all for free. I particularly recommend the delays.

Hey jlaudon yeah I figured this was a topic before just felt that sometimes new things come out, new promotions that rock and the 'old post' is dated thus missing them. So let's stay on forum trend kind of like the repetitive questions we see a gazllion times on forums like 'what's the best mic' - or 'best speakers' that we all answer over and over. It's all fun right? :)

Yeah, that is definitely valid - just adding the link, as it is pretty up to date on the freebies.

That said, i really like the PSP EQs, when they were 99 bucks before Christmas. There's something for everyone there.

I'm not sure... I use it on my G5 and haven't installed it on my intel machine since I have the SSL and UAD but it's free to check it out... I don't use native stuff besides VI's and Altiverb.

Weird I clicked on the link and it's saying it's been changed or removed. I'd like to try this on my Intel machine. Let me know if anyone finds a correct link.

I'm pretty sure it was never ported over to intel, at least for free :(
