Stillwell Audio updates...

Post by sstillwell »

Hey guys...

I've updated the plugins on the beta link, http://downloads.stillwellaudio.com/stillwell/beta/

Couple of things:

Updated to actually have some kind of installer, although it's a DMG drag-and-drop. Still waiting for graphics to make it all pretty, but we're getting there.

Made some mutex/locking changes that should get rid of infrequent unpredictable weirdness when running multiple instances or moving around the timeline rapidly.

1973 has a feature update and a bit of a graphics refresh: About the only bad thing I've ever heard about 1973 is that people have trouble using the midrange because it's relatively high-Q/low bandwidth filter. No more. You now have switchable Narrow (previous behavior, and the new default to prevent breaking old projects), Wide, and Adaptive (Q increases as gain/reduction increases in magnitude...kind of constant bandwidth instead of constant Q).

1973 DOES have a new parameter, but it's at the end of the parameter list. That being said...DO TAKE CARE. Make backups of projects, or use in non-critical projects until you're sure everything's okeydokey. Please post at our forums if you have any problems, if you can...I will try to check back here for comments, but I ALWAYS check my forums.

The keyboard-transport-control issue still exists, but I am in communication with MOTU and we're both trying to resolve it.

Also investigating what it'll take to add 64-bit compatibility, since Apple just released Logic 9.1 with 64-bit mode.

Enjoy!

Hi,

Do you anticipate a CMX beta version for Snow Leopard? The old version will open in Snow Leopard and DP 7.02. However, it causes the DP processor to spike out of control.

Thanks!

The regular version posted on the website is Snow Leopard-compatible...I'm running it right now. I'm using it in both Logic 9.1 and DP 7 and am not seeing any CPU spiking. It does run a bit heavier than a number of plugins, but it's running two pitch shifters and two delays, plus the nonlinear bits of the "Color" control, so not altogether surprising.

Can you create a small project with media that demonstrates the problem? That would help tremendously.

Actual DMG-based installers available on the beta link http://downloads.stillwellaudio.com/stillwell/beta/ .

Finally.

If it doesn't work as it should (License doesn't display when you mount the dmg, disk window doesn't have background image, plugins don't have custom icon, Alias folders don't have Library icon, etc...please let me know.

Regards again...
