Switched from Logic...A couple of questions
Hello folks, I recently switched from Logic to DP7 and am really enjoying it! A couple of questions for you DP gurus: I am using a large template of virtual instruments. I have created several Aux tracks to house several different reverb levels (Altiverb) and have routed my instruments to those Aux tracks to save CPU. When I try to adjust, i.e. the Violin I volume, no change takes place. It seems that I can only adjust the volume from the Aux track, which then changes the volume for the rest of the instruments that are routed to that particular Aux track. Do I need to adjust the volume by drawing in CC7 data? This would seem like a slow way to work. Is there a way to use the instrument track's fader to adjust volume? Here is my second question: While I am adjusting velocity levels, is there a way to get audible feedback while I'm dragging the Velocity line? I was able to do this in Logic and found it quite useful. Thanks for any help you might be able to offer me. Again, loving DP7!

Re: Switched from Logic...A couple of questions
Hi James, welcome to the world of Digital Performer and MOTUNation!
The behavior you are describing sounds like you're routing via the board FX sends set to pre-fader, which would result in the volume being sent to the reverbs not changing with the fader level. Can you confirm that this is the case?
And if it's not the case, can you be a little clearer about how you are routing the instruments to the auxes? (eg: routing each track output to an aux buss input, rather than using the sends.) The behavior you describe is not normal, and there's no need to be drawing CC7 in order to change a volume level...unless you want to.
I would recommend that you use the fx sends on the board to route the instruments to the reverb auxes, if that's not what you're doing.
Was this any help at all?
