Spectrum analyzers

Post by lampostudio »

Does anyone know of a plug that does for EQ'ing what Auto Tune does for pitch.
I have a project that the vocals was tracked years ago and the artist wanted to punch some new vocal lines. I now need to get the EQ on the punches to sound the same as the original vocal. Is there an APP for that???

Dynamic Spectrum Mapper might be the thing.

Otherwise, Ozone has a "match EQ" function.

There are a few others, but these two come to mind.

Logic has a match EQ function, which probably doesn't help you, but it tells you that you have a lot of options regarding matching EQ. You'll find what you're looking for, good luck, L

I doubt any voice could stay excactly the same over time.
My own voice changes slightly day to day. I hope it improves though !

Don't forget that the best app you have for that is your ears. Spend some time when tracking trying to get a mic that sounds as close as possible to the original. Then spend time experimenting with distance from the mic and preamp level. If you're meticulous about this and really focus on the sound while tracking, you may find that EQ is unnecessary (unless of course EQ was used on the original track).
