MPC - BPM issues

Hi all.. been seriously looking at moving from hardware since software looks so much interesting and convenient. I've been a long time (almost 10 years) user of the MPC (2000xl and 2500) and traveling is taking it's toll on the knobs. I've been doing a LOT of research on software, and the BPM looks very interesting...I've been really put off by a lot of software that offers too much as I'm not looking to invest a few years in an instruction manual. BPM looks very much like an MPC, and the video's look really convincing.
But what's up with all the issues I'm reading on here? Should I make the switch, or wait for another update? Is there anyone here that knows how MPC's work and can relate to some of the issues that I will not be able to live with?
