Motu Ultralite & TX2Z Laptop

Post by Doctopus »

I have been attempting to use my Ultralite with Windows 7 (both 32bit & 64bit attempted). Using a TI express card with my HP-TX2Z multitouch laptop has in every instance led to broken wave & asio operation. Depending on the FW-chipset driver used, playback either refuses to begin (multiple DAWs tested), or works fine on the software side but sound fails to reach or be reflected by the Ultralite.
After much distress I gave up an installed 32bit Vista, only to find the VERY SAME issues reproduced. The unit is fully operational, having been tested under Vista-32bit (roommate's laptop) & used extensively by myself in OS-X. So, i'm fresh off the Apple experience and trying to make a happy transition, would greatly appreciate any help I can get from seasoned PC users.
The express card itself should be fine, as it was used to test operation on my roommate's laptop. Since I seem to be able to install the drivers properly - and given that the issues persist across operating systems - I assume it must be a hardware conflict specific to the TX2Z. The TI-card has IRQ 16, and after disabling all possible devices on the channel it still shares it with PCI standard PCI-to-PCI Bridge (which causes the TI-card to disappear if disabled). Is this normal? The card had its own channel on my friends laptop.
Sorry for the scattered details, windows audio is a whole new world for me and i'm doing my best to soak it in, but have yet been able to enjoy quality sound since the transition from Apple
