Each time I minimise Cue Mix my PC re-boots itself.

Is this a problem anyone else has had and can advise on, or if anyone has any ideas I could check.

I am using Ultralite Mk3, and Windows XP.

You need to setup windows so it wont automatically restart upon a problem.

Go to System Properties Advanced tab( you get there by right clicking My Computer, selectiong properties, and then Advanced System settings), and click Settings under Startup and Recovery, under the System Failure section, uncheck mark "Automatically restart."

Now when this happens again you will get a BSOD (Blue screen of death). Look at the top and bottom to see what error message you get. Write it down, and let us know. This problem is usually a driver problem, but it could be a memory problem (RAM), or something else.

Take note of what message is in the BSOD, and you can troubleshoot from there.

Not wanting to get the BSOD death uless I really had to (!) I went to Event Viewer and found the log of the error - will this give me the same information as the BSOD?

It shows :

I'm not an IT specialist, but Event ID 1003 seems to be related to networking.

You already receive a BSOD, you just don't see it because you have "automatically restart" selected to happen when you get a system failure. Uncheck mark that and you might see the specific file listed in the BSOD that's causing the problem. Then, you can, determine what actions to take to resolve the issue. For example, do you need to update your network card drivers, motherfboard drivers, etc.

If you're unwilling to take further actions (such as letting the BSOD show so you can see if a certain file is listed in the BSOD error message) to pinpoint the source of your problem. I can offer no more help because I'm not really familiar with analyzing windows dump files and such.

Maybe someone else will come in and can be a better help to you.

what type of FireWire card do you have? I had exact same problem with
my 828mk3. I fixed it by buying another pci FireWire card. This reslved the irq issues I had with old built in f/w port. Cost me 60$ but well worth it Now my unit run rock solid. I got a pyro card (as recomended by motu). Good luck
