828 MK2 USB on Mac OSX - can't get the MIDI ports working!

Hi,

I have an Intel iMac and an 828mk2 USB.
I connected a Roland TD12 to the MIDI in/out ports on the 828 but can get Cubase 5 to record any MIDI events.
The 828 ports are seen in the Audio MIDI setup on OSX and the TD12 works fine if i connect it to my existing Midisport 4x4 (so I know it's working OK).

Is there something else I have to set up if I want to use the MIDI ports on the 828??
