Rubicon R6a Vs R8a

i'v decided i need some new monitors, with a budget of £350ish... i stumbled on a pair of rubicon R6a's for 250 quid which is a bit of a steal compared to the new cost of £380. anyone had any hands on experience with em? also why do the r8s retail for a touch less then the r6s when new? any other recommendations within the price bracket are welcome. thanks in advance!
