Can I delete M5 v1 Library if I have M5 v2?

Post by tdm71 »

Just wondering if the same instruments of v1 ( for the most part) are included in the new v2 ? The new Library format seems so much easier to access that I would really like to dump v1 if I can still get the same sounds in the new library...

Anyone know for sure?

THANKS

I can't say I know for sure. But I have both libraries, and I find that I use them both. It seems to me like they are different.

There might be some overlap, but I don't think the v2 content is a strict superset of the v1 content. In any case, the preset format & hierarchy is different, so if you save a performance with a v1 instance using v1's content and try to load the perf into a v2 instance using v2's content, it's not going to find the sounds properly.
