I have a 4 or 5 year old traveler and am trying to make it work with a new laptop that i recently purchased which runs windows vista 64 bit. i have been getting all kinds of pops and squeaks etc... on all the audio applications (sony vegas, winamp, etc...) using the traveler. is it possible that an older traveler is not compatible with windows vista 64 bit? i recently installed the 1.7 firmware update to my traveler btw.

Re: 5 year old traveler
Id be surprised if pops and squeals would be due to a USB compatibility problem. I'd do some debugging on this first. This also may be my Mac experience, and maybe Windows could have a USB problem that manifests itself this way. On the assumption that is is not, specifically, the USB driver/OS, etc., have you tried the following?
1] Check for the latest driver?
2] Tried a different USB port?
3] Tried unplugging and re-plugging the USB to force re-discovery?
4] Reset the Traveller to factory default?
5] Re-installed the latest firmware?
