New DP6.02 GUI. NovaMod 1.0

Post by iPerformer »

Hi guys!!

I've decided to set up a Website with all my DP 6.x and DP7.x Mods.
For those that are using my Mods it would be nice if you could visit and register and also download all new updates .
These updates are available for free (although any donations will be gratefully accepted).
New updates have some graphic maintenance and improvements and there are compatible with newest versions of DP. There is also a new Mod which is my favorite: Dark Mod 7.x
So feel free to visit any time.
Any comments here or there are always very welcome.
I have to thanks James and all of you and wish you happy Holidays too.

iP's Mods (Click Here)

Cheers.

iP.

Man you're definitely a knob guy. I'll be keeping my compound MOD I've done between your stuff and ADood's but All my mixer's knobs come from you. I'll finally be able to get RID of these sends knobs I have.

Now My mixer will really be perfect to my taste!!!

Double super-duper excellento accelerando, my friend! I nominate this mod as the official MOTU look.

I like Amplidude's stuff, too, but it's a little dark for me. I'm actually happy with DP 6.02 and its look. But I completely agree that darkening just a couple of shades it makes it better. And the knobs, buttons, and things look great! I would prefer DP's faders, but with some color in them. I'm not one who finds them to be lacking in design; just color and contrast. The "bed" doesn't bother me; in fact, I like it. But with that one exception, I would implement all your changes, iPerformer.

Having said that, I'm not GOING to use that mod, because I simply don't like to fiddle with it at update time. But I sure wish MOTU would adopt it. The total-gray look, even with its blue highlights, is simply too bland overall. But as I said before, I'm happy working in it. It doesn't trouble me when I open it. My own tracks color schemes help with that. I say "my own," but what I mean is just the ones I select from DP's many default color schemes. I've got 16 or so I can choose from in a fraction of a second, so I'm basically happy with that.

Once more: great job!

So i decided that considering that DP's new GUI wasn't that bad and I started liking it pretty much since I'm working with it almost every day now, that maybe the answer was to try to do just a little make up to the new GUI . This make up is what I want to share with all MOTUNATION people that thinks that the new GUI is fine but would rather to be bright-less or darker :)
I also think the new GUI is not so bad, and I'm not that put off by the brightness. For me, the problem is the lack of contrast where it is needed, and the trend to design GUIs with different shades of the same colour. I think you've nailed that in the mixer in the section with the sliders, and I've copied the bits you did for that, as well as the mixer background.
On the topic of contrast, may I make one modest suggestion? In the TO, I think the white grid that defines the rows and columns contrasts too much with the background and detracts from the readability of the text in the boxes. I don't know if that can be made darker in the same degree as the background?

The little send buttons in the conventional mixer view are also much clearer due to their being darkened, Baysey. You might want to copy them as well, methinks.

I agree, Baysey; the contrast between the two could use some narrowing. A lot of narrowing. Even in the stock DP GUI I find it way too glary.

I got so used to my DP MOD than I dread the moment when MOTU will release an uncompatible of DP...

There should be no worries there, IP; who knows, maybe MOTU will include all the 'Cornie mods for us, all tucked away neatly in a pref menu. LOL

Great work iperformer :D
Up and running here. 8). 23" of great visuals.
Mixer now gives so much more info, at a glance you can see fader positions much better than before. (I didn´t like them red at first look, but they can be seen so well...)
PS: Motu, please, do implement this guys work into some official release. More people will be atracted by different GUIs than by a single one.

Very nice looking I have not to been upset with the GUI's brightness, I did try dark mod which I liked but it was a bit dark. When I went to 6.02 I went back to the normal MOTU GUI. I may try yours as it is a bit less bright and I think it looks way cool.
You put a lot of work into this and did a good job, your way cool. 8)

Hello everybody,

I'm desperately looking for a way to make the "barline" thinker (or darker) in the Graphic Editor and Sequence Editor. As I get older, I can't really notice the difference between beat 1 and the others...
Do you know which attribute affects this in the Default_Style file (or maybe another file, in glogs ?)

thanks for your help !

I love the look of this and installed it. I've had crashes with DP6 (nothing unusual though) and now I'm in SL and I still have crashes and lots of beach balls. Is there any possibility that this MOD could create problems? I doubt since it's only graphics but just trying to find the reason why my DP is still unstable while it seems the majority of people in SL 6.02 say it's solid.
