which firewire cable for the 828mk1??

Hey everyone -

I'm new here and I'm an old school analog guy who over the years has been making the digital transition.

I just bought a used 828mk1 for my home/project studio. It didn't come with a firewire cable. The Unit is labled simply 1394. I've been surfing the web tring to figure out which one I need. I have one that is for my Sony digital camcorder, but it is the incorrect size and shape to fit the firewire port on the 828mk1.

What Ineed to know is - what is the correct connector on the 828 mk1?

Is it a 6-pin FireWire 400 (1394a)?

Hi

Yes the connection between computer and MOTU 828MK1 is regular FireWire 400 6-pin to 6-pin cable.

if your machine is a laptop then it will probably be the 4 pin connection then you need a 6 pin to 4 cable, if you use a card in your laptop or desktop more likely to be a 6 - 6 pin

It turned out to be the 6pin to 6pin.

Fortunately, I found one at a local retailer after searching 3 stores.
