Hello,
I have a Micro Express and I would like to use it without the computer. MOTU recommends using a powered USB hub that draw its current from AC, so you don't need to connect it to the PC. Instead of that solution, I would prefer using a USB power supply, the same kind that those that are made to charge MP3 players. I need to how much current is required to power the Micro Express. The USB adapter that I have can support 500mA. Would it be enough ?
Thanks for your help !

Re: MOTU Micro Express (newest version) power requirements
I don't think that the Micro Express requires much power. Find out how many amps a typical USB port outputs and try to match that with a power supply.
The leading cause of wrong answers is asking the wrong questions.

After some reading on Wikipedia, it looks like 500mA will be fine:
That means that a regular USB 2.0 port can provide a maximum of 5x 100mA = 500mAA unit load is defined as 100mA in USB 2.0 [...] A maximum of 5 unit loads can be drawn from a port in USB 2.0
