New FW & USB Drivers 3.6.8.1394 availabel @ MOTU.com

Post by audiopro1969 »

The official release of the new Firewire and USB drivers from MOTU are now online at the MOTU.com downloads page.

Hopefully we will all be analyzing our signals with the FFT / RTA analyzer tonight!

On my Vista x64 system with an 828 MKII FW, audio is still unreliable with the new drivers. However, on this same computer, when I boot it into XP Pro SP3, everything works great.

New drivers have had timing reworked. I am now running 3 Travelers on the FW buss without any problems at all. Have been using them all day yesterday and again today. I'm using Win XP SP3 with no alterations on an IBM Thinkcentre, 2.8 GHz, P4 with 1 GB RAM and Unibrain FW 3 port adapter. It's almost miraculous! Before this new driver I was unable to start Sound Forge or Vegas. Both work fine and about the same as with one Traveler

Has anyone compared the latency of these drivers with the 3.6.7.x drivers? IME the 3.6.8.x drivers double the latency.

Are people finding them working well with multiple units without rolling back the Windows fire wire drivers to sp1?

The new WaveRT drivers have also taken out the 96 buffer settings too. So far on the Sonar board, (the only DAW so far WaveRT ready) show stability, promise but results not as good as the XP drivers. All are impressed it could be accomplished with firewire/usb.
