effects on every input while monitoring

Post by mikikiki999 »

i'd like to buy the motu traveler mk3; can i use the effects on the input without recording them? I use the outputs routed to different phones so it is not useful to use effects on the out for me

I recently bought the 896mkIII and was disappointed to find out that you CAN'T apply effects to the inputs without recording them. The Cuemix manual clearly states that anything done in the Inputs tab occurs before the signal is sent anywhere else (computer, mixes, outputs). This is in direct contradiction to the MOTU website which says "Input signals to the computer can be recorded wet, dry, or dry with a wet monitor mix (for musicians during recording, for example)." This is some wicked false advertising by MOTU. The only effects that can be applied without being recorded are whole-mix effects on the outputs. This is still nice to have but not nearly as useful. I see the Traveler is advertised similarly and uses the same Cuemix FX so I would suspect it behaves the same. Maybe someone more knowledgable can fill us both in.
