Can't get MOTU Audio Console for original 896 on Vista

Post by johng63 »

I have a MOTU 896 (original not mk3 or HD) and I am working with it on Vista, I was able to get the drivers to work (with the help of one of the other posts) but the Audio Console has an error when I try to bring it up from the VST Multilink setup in Cubase 4 LE. Has anyone else been able to get the Audio Console up?

The reason I need the audio console is that I hope to be able to split the output buses so I can control all output volumes separately.. ie input 3 to output 3 and input 4 to output 4.. right now they are all grouped 1-2 3-4 5-6 7-8. Hopefully the Audio Console can control this.

FYI: I got the driver from: http://www.dontcrack.com/freeware/downl ... SB-Driver/#.

Thanks

The channel groupings has always been a Windows thing. Was that supposed to be different in Vista? You just pick 1-2L or 1-2R,...

Right-click on the driver installer program and select "Run as administrator." I think that will prevent the error your seeing.
The leading cause of wrong answers is asking the wrong questions.

Wow, I have been trying all day to install the .1414 USB/Firewire drivers for Vista 64bit on my brand new Dell XPS. I found the previous 3 versions by rooting around and they all had error 1721 and would not complete the install. I just tried "run as adminstrator" and version 1394 installed. I don't know if any of it will work yet, but atleast I am onto the second alligator head on the pond! Thanks!!!
