Being in the situation that I sold a bunch of non musical items I had laying around. I wanted to spend some money on upgrading my studio gear.
Anyway, first I pruchased a Motu 896Mk3, then my pc went down, so I put some money in a new.
The computer is a quadcore AMD phenom, 4gigs ram, 2x750Gb harddrives and an ordinary screencard.
I think there is something aqward here, because I can get dropouts recording the first audiotrack, when the CPU and disk is at only 0-1% usage. I
find this very strange. This was never a problem on my former DAW with only one single 2ghz prosessor, 1 gig ram and 1 250gb harddrive.
I used some money on this so that I should not be interrupted by such things as dropouts etc. when using many plugins and softsynths.
Any idea on what?
Im currently using XP because I find it to be more stable an less demanding than Vista when it comes to audio production.
New PC, new Motu, sonar 5PE....Still these darn dropouts!!!
