EWQLSO
How do I run EWQLSO Platinum using Digital Performer 4.52? I have a Mac G5 OS 10.3.8, 2 GB of RAM and 200 GB of hard drive space. I do not have Logic or ProTools and nothing in the EWQLSO installation instructions mentions Digital Performer. I gather that it should be possible since many of the messages posted in this forum mention EWQLSO. Can clarify how to install EWQLSO so that it will run with DP?

Mike:
It should have loaded a Kontakt player in your instrument menu for EWQSO. That is where you will build your orchestra. Add an instrument track and select EWQSO and then the Kontakt instrument will come up.
Hope I helped here.
Peace

Re: EWQLSO
I just got the EW orchestra (silver) and DP 4.52 running. It was quite easy selecting an instrument track....it offered the Orchestra as a choice in the menu.
Does your EWQLSO work as a stand alone? Maybe you need to re-install.

Re: EWQLSO
You don't need Kompact if your going to run it as an AU Plug.
Be warned .. that is alot to ask of one Mac to run OSX, DP 4.5 AND EWQLSO Plat. Not sure how usable it will be for you. Most guys I know (including me) use a seperate PC for every section of Plat. (one PC for Strings, one for Winds, etc)

Re: EWQLSO
Hi Westla,
What if I compose and create my orchestration with Garritan Personal Orchestra and then redo it one section at a time, using EWQLSO and recording the instruments of each section on audio tracks before loading the next section?

Re: EWQLSO
That would work fine. Just wanted to make sure you didn't get dissapointed by not being able to load up a full orchestra in Plat.

Re: EWQLSO
You could get silver for 200.00 (they just reduced price), use that rather than Garritan and then you'd have a better idea of how it would sound w platinum. That is if you were made of money!Originally posted by Mike Rafone:

Re: EWQLSO
Mike,
You might want to consider simply composing with the stage mike patches from EWQLSO and not use Garritan for a sketch pad. I woul dbe concerned about the differences in mod-wheel programming between the two libraries not translating very well. Give it a go though. Good luck.
