OMF Import problem!

Post by Tesionman »

Hello!

I'm having a problem with importing OMF files(from Nuendo 3) in DP 6.01.

The same OMFs always open in DP 5.1 but in 6.01 it crashes(saying that DP quit unexpect...yada yada yada)..

Any help is appreciated!

Cheers

I was just about to ask about this as well.
I was trying to open an OMF file from Sonar (just a few simple audio tracks). No luck.
Interestingly though, it opened fine in Logic 8. From Logic I exported all tracks (which it automatically did from 0:00 :D ). This literally only took a few seconds. (Wow Logic is fast.) Then I dragged them into DP without problem.

I tried in Logic but they don't open correctly(but doesnt crash).. In Dp 6 its the problem I mentioned and in DP 5.1 everything is in place(edits, etc...)!!

Wierd.

The Digital Era is great!!!...... when everything works.

I've opened OMF's from logic seamlessly.

Attempting to open OMFs from FCP crashes 6.01 for me.

Hmm. This makes me think the problem may be with FCP, since some of you can get OMFs from Logic, etc.

Same for me, opening an OMF from FCP in DP6.01 always crashes. I have to import it in DP5.13, close the file and open it in DP6

same for me - ( protools session i was sent as an OMF last week )

actually I have had success with OMF from FCP... but sometimes it makes loads of bogus extra chunks

it would be good if they could get together a moderated known issues sheet for DP?

That may be an acceptable workaround. Do you have 513 and 601 installed on the same volume?

For me opening FCP OMF file opens except every stereo tracks changes to mono tracks. I was hoping XML thing works with DP6.01 but it always misses very first track(stereo). All other tracks opens(places) just fine.

Yes, I got DP 6 in a middle of a very big project, so I installed it and use it on the new ones, but continue to use 5.13 for the old project (a series). They are together in the same drive in perfect harmony. The only thing I have to remember is not to open an old project and save it in DP 6.01 (even that is not a major problem).
