Can't install PCI-324 in Win XP 32 ("not a valid Win32 app")

I'm getting a PC up and running with an old 2408 (mk1). The PC is running XP SP2.

When I download the PCI-324 setup app from the MOTU web site, I double-click on the setup.exe file but it tells me that "...setup.exe is not a valid Win32 application"

What to do? I tried redownloading it several times, but I can't get this installer to launch. Any clues? (Or any workarounds to get the drivers installed?)
