Ultralite firmware issue

My Ultralite has worked great for me for a couple of years now...but
I went to turn it on the other day and an error message came up.
"Firmware installation v.100" - (or something like that)
The firmware was up to date
Since that error came up there is no getting the Ultralite to normal running mode.
It just stays in that error mode despite repeated attempts to solve the issue.
(holding down page and cursor button etc.)
MOTU says it must be sent back for repair.

Any thoughts out there before I send it back.
