I seriously need to pony up and get Sound On Sound. I've heard from too many people what a great mag this is.

i buy SOS at the magazine store every month, its my favorite, they have the most comprehensive reviews that I actually trust. They also have articles every month that are program specific for DP.Logic etc.....very informative.
last year I missed a 50% savings on a SOS subscription(audiomidi.com had the promotion).

EM is cheap enough($12 per year)so I just renewed,it is hit or miss.sometimes it has very good reviews and articles ,other times it's not so good.example:last year they forgot about DP 's awesome pitch correction.
Keyboard has gotten so lame(also $12 per year)and has gone down in quality to the point I will not even consider renewing.articles are pretty bad and I don't trust the reviews.
2012 Mac Pro 3.46GHz 12 core 96 gig,Mojave, DP11.01,Logic 10.51, RME UCX,Great River ME-1NV,a few microphones,UAD2, Komplete 12U,U-he,Omni & way too many VI's,Synths & FX galore!, Mimic Pro w/ SD3,Focal Twin 6 monitors, Shunyata...........

Creativity, some digital stuff and analogue things that go boom. crackle, bits of wood with strings on them that go twang

With TapeOp you already have my absolute favorite. SOS is good but pricey, I get it online...

Really like SOS, the college library where I teach has a sub. Feel that it's more genuine and less hype-y than some of the other mags, and enjoy Robin Bigwood's DP columns, including his droll Pommie humor. Used to love Keyboard in the 80's early 90's, when Jeff Rona was writing for them. Now I probably couldn't find 3 articles I'd like to read in a year.
I like EM generally as well, I feel like over the year I'd probably get value from the columns above the subscription price.
Also I like vi mag, lots of geeky technical stuff about using vi's, programming, setting up home studios. Unfortunately the last issue was 4 months ago so don't know if it's still a going concern. Nick Batsdorf (publisher) keeps saying the next issue is definitely coming...but hasn't yet.

Well considering that you can get all of them for free (not sure about SOS) because you're a professional, get them all (Mix, Remix, Tape OP which is always free, Electronic Musician, etc.).
I haven't paid for for EM since I was in high school.
