Hi, I'm running DP 6.01, and noticed an odd thing and I'm wondering if this is something obvious that I'm just misunderstanding. I have a session that is running 3 tracks of stereo audio, and maybe 10 MIDI tracks along with video. The MIDI is driving 2 instances of Kontakt 3, but the patches are pretty small. Some SAM TrueStrike single instruments, a few single-velocity layer percussion tracks, and a single kontakt library drum kit. We're not talking orchestras or a big grand piano here. There are no extra reverbs or DSP plugins running at all, and no additional software running in the background.
When I open a totally new/empty session, DP uses about 400Mb of real system memory. Fine.
When I open this session, it loads at around 750Mb of real system memory. Fine, I might expect that with video, some audio, and some VIs.
While I am using the session, just playing the sequence through, the memory usage (in Activity Monitor) keeps ascending. Okay, so maybe it's loading more samples as the whole sequence plays through. Once through and it's now around 850Mb, and keeps climbing. If I play the sequence again, keeps climbing, and seems to climb even after the sequence has stopped. CPU usage is reporting over 100%. I'm not adding new parts or playing along...just hitting the Play button in the transport. Eventually, it's climbed up to 2.5Gb of real memory, starts grinding to a halt, and crashes. If I stop it before the crash and reopen the session, goes to the 750Mb range, and repeats this whole process.
Needless to say, this is troubling to me.
Any thoughts?

Re: DP6 Memory keeps adding up?
Try removing the video and see if the problem goes away. I am NOT suggesting this is the solution, but last month when I was working on film audio with a video loaded, I was having the same sort of problem. It was an absolute pain in the neck.
