cuemix second mix

Post by bronson2uk »

Hi Guys

I recently bought a 828 mk3, it has been installed and its working fine...

My problem is this.......

I want to create another mix in cuemix to go to the second phones but I can only hear the inputs that go into this mix, I can't hear what I'm trying to play along to, which would be the main mix from the daw.
Motu techlink said.... within cubase, create another output bus and route the audio tracks to this bus and the main bus........ How do I do that?
I'm using cubase sx3 on a pc

can anyone help

Hello anyone

Anyone that uses cuemix..
I want to create 2 seperate mixes, 1 for me and another for the bass player who likes to be able to hear himself play (really hear himself play), but thats to much for me.
I want to hear whatever is being played back by the daw in both mixes, and our own instruments being played at our own required levels.

e.g.
I want my guitar louder, and he wants his bass louder.

someone must know how to do it,
or can this not be done, which would be a shame really because this is 1 of the reasons I bought the 828

sorry this is a slow response but it may help someone else in the same situation.

one possible way to create submixes in sx is to use the aux sends (in a similar way to an analogue mixer.)
create new output bus's with the routings of your choice, for example analogue 1,2 and 3,4.
Then in the cubase mixer (F3) activate the 'middle section' which can be assigned to show eq/sends.
On the left hand side select the option to view sends 1-4.
each send can be assigned to an output bus, so assign send 1 to your first bus (1,2) and send 2 to the second (3,4)
The level of each channel is then seperately adjustable by altering the send levels.
of course this is not necessary for input channels as cumix can deal with these with much less fuss.

hope this helps someone!!

and that post was totally irrelevant. never mind, to actually answer your q; click the mixes tab in cumix, then to the right of that tab there is a dropdown displaying available busses. select an empty bus and route that to whichever output you wish to use. the two busses will then operate independantly to one another, allowing you to create your 2 mixes.
