Hello all!
I'm having an issue with quickscribe that is totally repeatable, and just checking to see if anyone else is having this issue. When making "box selections" (i.e., just dragging for a multiple selection from the mouse cursor), the screen moves from where I'm looking and jumps upward. This is making DP6 nearly unusable for those of us that use this feature a lot. Any thoughts/comments/suggestions/confessions?

Re: DP6 Quickscribe issue
Yes, I posted this problem earlier, but in the context of an overall DP 6.0 evaluation.
My recollection from last night's editing with DP 6.01 is that it is now fixed.
I'll pay more attention tonight, to make sure.

Re: DP6 Quickscribe issue
it still occurs in 6.01. It seems to be most apparent in the bottom 3rd of the screen.

Re: DP6 Quickscribe issue
The problem is mostly fixed in 6.01.
This jumpiness now only occurs if you create a vertical split pane in the main Consolidated Window, with Quickscribe either in the top or bottom pane. And even at that, only when selecting near the very bottom of the score page.
If Quickscribe spans the entire height of the entire Consolidated Window, the "jumping" problem does not occur during selections near the bottom of the Quickscribe view.
If Quickscribe is launched as a separate window, the problem does not occur at all.
Furthermore, there is a wonderful new feature in 6.01 that I have wanted for a long time: if you double-click on a different track while the Quickscribe view is showing, it updates the view to that track.
What a time-saver!
In previous versions, as far back as I can remember, I would have to dismiss the Quickscribe view before launching it again from a different MIDI track.

Re: DP6 Quickscribe issue
I've got a single window open in DP 6.01-- no consolidated windows are in use or open.mhschmieder wrote: If Quickscribe spans the entire height of the entire Consolidated Window, the "jumping" problem does not occur during selections near the bottom of the Quickscribe view.

I have 20 MIDI tracks.
When I try to select the notes on tracks I want which are on tracks that are below the lower window frame, the window jumps almost to the top, sending the notes I wanted out of reach.
The problem can be minimized if:
1. The window is made a lot larger and/or
2. The zoom level is made a lot smaller
3. If the vertical scroll is no more than 30% down or so.
4. If one minimizes the number of tracks that are visible by using the track list-- which also jumps around!!(*)
(*)This may sound okay if you're dealing with multiple MIDI tracks, but even a single MIDI track is difficult to manage where the notes you want to edit by default exist below DP's default jump-scroll location on any given page.
MH-- if you are not experiencing the problem with QS in its own window, I suspect that something associated with points 1 and/or 2 are more easily at play by default, therefore minimizing the problem that may be more apparent with Consolidated Windows, or with a smaller single window, or with QS zoomed in about 120% or so.
This is a new quirk in DP6 (except the track list jumped around in DP5.x), and one I personally find counterproductive and unusable. If MOTU understands that some of their users actually read music, it seems they've misunderstood just how that is done. What sense does it make to have to zoom out to 30-40% to select notes when you can barely see them or to zoom in to see notes that QS won't allow the user to select anyway?
