828 mkii problem

I've had my MOTU for a while now, like 2 years and I just moved back to school for the semester and upon hooking up my computer I found that all the motu drivers had disappeared and when connected to the computer the device won't power on past CueMixDSP, when disconnected it will power up fine but when connected to the computer after the clock speed will blink and it still won't be deteced, my computer detects other firewire devices fine so it's not that, i'm unsure how to proceed further.

This may sound stupid, but there was no indication in your post...but did you reload the drivers?

Yeah, it didn't work, i called motu they said send it in for repair, what is that usually like?

I'm not sure...I haven't had to do that. Did you try resetting the 828 to factory defaults? Press setup and scroll to "Factory Defaults (must detach FW)"...also make sure Clock Source is set to Internal. Other than that, I'm outta ideas (and you probably did that anyway).
