tempo adjust mach 5 loops

I thought the manual was pretty clear but I'm just not getting it. I pull a guitar loop from Loops>Instruments>Guitars and trigger it on my keyboard but despite having the "sync" button clicked (which I thought meant 'sync to tempo'-- as a similar option in Ethno does) nothing changes.

Any help on this? Something I'm missing?

Which "sync" button are you clicking? There's a few — LFO sync, envelope sync, etc. Make sure you've set the "sync" menu (along the right side, in the LoobLab section) to "tempo" or "pos" when working with loops to make sure that they sync to MachFive's master tempo, and that you enable the "sync" button along the top of the window (above the waveform display) to make sure that MachFive's master tempo syncs to your host.
