828 mk3 factory reset

Post by majdid »

tried everything i could to fix the high pitched noises/audio interruptions when my 828 mk3 is connected to my toshiba laptop (winxp/TI FW), or the non ending BSOD scenario when using my HP dv6000 laptop (vista/ricoh FW or belkin expresscard with TI FW chipset).

anybody can please point me to where to get the info on how to factory reset the unit, this is the last thing i can think of.. motu support is of course very helpful, a totally useless answer after almost 2 weeks of posting the question.

ps: will i loose the last firmware update when doing factory reset? is it recommended? will i loose my cuemix settings also?

HI

All I found is 828MkII reset info:

http://www.motu.com/techsupport/technot ... earchterm=

I don´t know if it works with 828MkIII.

Yes it does, much like the mkII referanced above, it restores all of the setting to factory. It doesn't reset the ROM version.

Ok lets go this route, I just played with mine off line.
With the 828mk3 disconnected from the computer, or the computer off and the mk3 in stand-alone mode:

Press the Param/Setup button (Twice)
Rotate the dial (Clockwise) until it reads "Factory Defaults"
Press The Value button (Twice)
The unit will read "Initializing"

Your now at factory settings.
