Sent a Tech Link to MOTU.
While I'm waiting for their response, I thought I'd ask the forum:
I've been working in 6.0 exclusively for a few weeks now.
I've noticed that simple audio edits - copy, paste, for example, take incredibly long. Sometimes over a minute just to copy a short 2 second mono soundfile and paste it somewhere later in the track. This is with no plugins instantiated and not much else happening in the file.
I've tried setting the "Studio/Configure Studio Settings/Prefill buffers for Quick Start" to off, as recommended elsewhere in the forum, but it doesn't seem to help much on my setup.
Does anyone know if there's some preference file I can trash that will improve performance, or some other fix that I can do on my end?
General Requests:
1. I wish we could still select non adjacent tracks for simultaneous editing in the Tracks window, as used to be possible in earlier versions. It's a lot of extra work to have to move non-adjacent tracks next to each other to be able to edit them together. Now, when we select non-adjacent tracks, all the tracks in between are also selected.
2. I wish we still had access to the "tool well" at the top right of the Control Panel, so we can select Sequence Editor, Quickscribe, Mixing Board, etc, without having to mouse to the Project menu...

If you learn the key commands you'll find them way quicker than having to click on the control panel.2. I'm not experiencing this. I just finished working on an hour and 33 minute project with 500 soundbites. Copy and paste worked fine. Very odd to hear that you are having a problem with that.
Are you REALLY zoomed in when doing the copy and paste? I found if I was zoomed in too much, DP ran HORRIBLY. I just got used to working a bit further out.

Glad to hear that you're not having this problem Grimepoch. I wouldn't think that MOTU would release a version that does this on purpose.
My edits take forever with no sequence editor window open...
Maybe there's some preference file or some other file that I should trash and then rebuild??
Still waiting for an answer from MOTU, maybe some of you can advise me?
