audio editing in DP5

Post by tingkumajique »

Hi all,

didn't really know what to search for in the forums coz i don't really know how to define this little problem i have.

there are times where i have an audio file and i wanna duplicate the audio over the timeline. so what i do is i "option + Y" at the specific point of audio i want to cut and duplicate it.

the problem i have is when i adjust the length of the snippet, the length of the original clip adjusts too... how can this be prevented?

hope some one can help me on this... thanks!

I believe you hit the option key when making the adjustment to the copy. You can also apply merge on the copy first and then make the edit.

In the pull-down menu in the Sequence editor, make sure 'edge edit copy' is checked.

As MLC mentioned - holding down the option key while edge-editing will make the editor behave opposite to what you've selected in the pull-down menu.

yeah, that's one that's sadly lacking. Easiest way is to hit control-M which will put a marker at the playhead, then you can snap to the marker (make sure snap to marker is enabled).

Duh! Now why hasn't that ever occurred to me. I'm glad I saw this thread. Thanks (again) Mr. Clifford. :)
