it could cause problems.
I'm curious what Sdemott would think of this and if it potentially created a risk to the mac beyond the benefits???

More info would be helpful too.
I mean, if it's so easy and not harmful to the hardware, why isn't Apple selling the 2.8GHz -3.2GHz Mac Pro range as 3.2GHz - 3.6GHz?
My guess is that long-term reliability must have been questionable, as you'd think Apple would crank the CPUs to the safest maximum limit it could determine.

I'm troubled by their use of the word "should." People who know more about this than I have warned that overclocking heats up cores. Heat kills.
I'd want to see some third-party proof before I'd try this at home.

It also messes with the system clock...
For most audio applications, processor speed increases of that magnitude shouldn't help you very much, frankly. Not worth the risk in stability. Read their FAQ, too scary for me. I'm keeping my 2.8GHz at 2.8GHz.
