when I have a window that shows me save/do not save/cancel, like when you close a song, if I hit tab a little grey highlight appears around the second option, but the first option stays full grey, then when I hit enter it still selects the first option.
as in open a dp project, make a small change and the close the project, the window appears - hit tab, see the grey highlight appear around the second option, then hit enter, the first option is selected.
how do I choose the second option without using my mouse?

thank you, but I used a bad example, I just used the DP window as a general reference, your suggestion was not quite right.
I am specifically adding file extensions to a LARGE batch of samples that lost their extensions when I transferred them somehow, eliminate the extension from an audio sample, then try to add one.

no matter what key I hit, it will only activate the circled command of keep "---", or nothing at all?
I cannot press any key or combination of keys to select "use aiff", this is killing me, I have a ton of sample's to add aiff to before anything I have will read them, these are my old custom samples that were burned to a disc a few years ago
.
how do I do this, its the only part I stop and grab a mouse for, scroll through folders using key, highlight and add extension using keys. then that window and I have to grab my mouse,It's getting really annoying.
also my mac keybord got killed and I am using a logitech, but it has no flaws with any program-
Can anyone do this, find the button for this command?
and pressing escape as suggested simply cancels.
Thank you for trying meister.

Hi mike_o;
I got it working this way....
First you must have Full keyboard access set to "All controls" in System Preferences/Keyboard & Mouse/Keyboard Shortcuts... at the bottom.
Now in a dialog box, you can Tab between the buttons and use the Space Bar to select the highlighted option (not the full highlight; the outlined one)
Hope this works for you.

Oh, you're trying to rename a large number of files in the Finder. A batch rename utility like Filewrangler will make this very simple:
