Perhaps James can put a stickie saying...

NO POSTING WAVES ADS...

That would cut down on the trauma of many of the Unation members...

As a recent Mercury Bundle purchaser, I was able to download it for free. In fact, I already incorporated them into three mixes I did last night. They sound good. I haven't A/B'd the Fairchild against the Bombfactory one (which I have too), but I did like what it did in the mixes. I used to own the Bombfactory Pultec back in the OS 9 days, but when BF pulled support for DP4/OSX, that was the end of that. So I can;t directly compare that one. I don't own the UAD, so no comment there. Would I actually pay *money* for this new stuff? No, as I already have several killer tools in my bundle that can do similar things (Neve eq/comp, API eq/comp, etc.), but they do sound real good, and I am happy to add them to my collect at the price I was afforded (free)! :-)

I think waves bashing should start to be met with "get a life"..in some cases..

I have ragged about waves myself but in general, had it pretty good with waves.

All you have to do on PPC sysytems now is make sure "always run in realtime" is selected and waves works fine. This could be DP's fault for all we know..

But to say that these new cool plugs will torture DP users is BS.
I would like to say something a bit more intelligent than that for you all..

1)make sure "always run in realtime" is selected on every waves plug in
2) wait 3-4 months and watch for waves to discount this series 20%
3) get a life..lol

In *some* cases. In other cases, I'd wait to hear if there might not be good reason for some of it.

I don't own any Waves stuff right now although I've thought about buying the Musician's 2 bundle because it's CHEAP and I heard the RenVox was groovy. Besides, how bad can you get WUPPED on a $150 bundle, right? :D

I suppose that there are just open wounds that make people skiddish. And the come the rationalizations.
The idea that any new waves product presents a nightmare to us DP users is getting silly to me.
The stuff sounds great and I use it on EVERY mix..

You know..DP plugs are screwed up too..
Try grabing an eq freq in the simplest of DP eqs..you have to grab 5 times before it lets you get hold of it..this never used to be the case..so again..is waves really the big bad wolf or does DP have its responsiblity? if waves did that..people would be bitching about hows waves is the devil...

This stuff is getting old.

Ive hated waves long enough..Im gonna get a life

That's sounds fun... but oh... not me!! I don't even HAVE Waves plugs... but this is me... in my best "buffed-out" Ricardo Montalban in "Wrath of Kahn" voice: "Kirk... umm... I mean Waves!! With my last breath I spit at thee!!!" Or whatever the hell he said, either way you gotta give it to Kahn-- he really knew how to hate something! Where were we? DP6: The Wrath of Waves?

Personally, I always liked Shatner... especially... the way... he... talked. With those... seemingly.... random pauses.... "Bones!"

Come to think of it... perhaps it was a conspiracy how Spock was always saying "That's LOGICal, Captain." Now Spock would have used Logic... you KNOW that. Scotty would have used a 24-track 2" inch machine and been screaming "Captain! The azimuth is all outta whack! She can't take much more of this!!"

Where were we again? :D

Oops... I was busy editing incessantly while you replied to my first draft.

It would be a funny bit to have Kirk, Spock, McCoy, and Scotty doing a DAW shootout... each arguing in favor of one of them. Okay... it wouldn't be funny. Maybe funny only to techno geeks... but still. Hey... isn't Comicon coming up? :P
