I'm impressed, I have not had time to totally check it out but in stand-alone mode the sound is fresh and crisp. I'm in the middle of rebuilding my DAW and this is one of my upgrades, I had the E-MU 1820m. My computer is still in pieces and some parts are vapor ware yet to be purchased but I think the 828mk3 was a good purchase on my part. I took my mixer and used it for input 1/2 and my monitor speakers on 1/2 out (until I get the xlr to 1/4 adapters for the mains), fired up my Yamaha S90ES and it sounded great. I swear I could hear the hammers ring off the strings, an it's a synth. I think I'm going to enjoy this new toy very much.
