896HD

Post by Shepiod »

I purchased an 896HD and channel one has died.
It is not out of warranty but my CD is dead in the water as is a whole lot of other projects.
I'd like to know if this unit is reliable.
What are the experiences of other people owning this interface.
Your responses are most appreciated.

MOTU's reliability

Post by hswin »

I have 3 MOTU HD896's which were purchased in 2004 and 2005. They are working fine for me. I only have one output on one of the HD's which is not a huge issue since I use the other two for both outputs if needed. I also use a MOTU Ultralite in conjunction with these three for 32 total tracks!! I am having fun with those!

hp ZD7000 laptop 2.8 Gb processor 1 Gb RAM
Windows XP SP2 with older FW driver
3 MOTU 86HD
1 MOTU Ultralite
several external 7200 rpm drives
Several studio mics
