Getting closer to a solution

Post by Budmas21 »

Hey guys, I thought I was having trouble with my 896HD when I'd go and shut it off. It was having programs hang and you couldn't even force quit from them and you had to manually restart the computer to get it cleared. Either way, I unplugged my external firewire drive today and started my 896HD, then I powered it down and the problem went away. No programs hang and my MOTU Audio Setup goes away like it suppose to. I put new cables on my external drive and plugged it back in and then the problem comes back. Thing is, I can save to the drive no problem and I don't seem to have a problem with it, other than finding out this. Does Leopard have some problems with it's Firewire drivers? I'm tempted to buy a new external drive to try to see if this fixes it, but I don't want to dish out the cash and then can't return it if there's no problem. Has anyone heard of such a problem with Leopard? Thanks.
