Still unable to use ASIO after a week of troubleshooting

I am unable to hear anything when I switch to MOTU audio ASIO. I need to use ASIO or I can't use all my inputs and outputs.

I have been at this for 8 days straight.

I have:

* bought a completely new computer
* Bought a new version of Windows (after I was told MOTU was incompatible with XP Media Center)

I don't know what else to do...

I'm running Cubase but I tried it on Ableton as well. Neither play anything. All I hear is what's coming out of my Analog Synthesizers.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

In Cubase under device Setup, you're using MOTU ASIO and not ASIO Multimedia", or "ASIO DirectX" or something like that?

Then in VST Connections, are outputs showing up there when you create a new output bus? Do they show under the Device Settings?

If you try to plugin headphones in your phones output on your motu do you have sound then?

Cause what you probably need to do is just change the outputs in Cubase and Live to the correct ones.

In Live it's on the master mixer, on master out you chose out 10/11, not 1/2 which is default.

I didn't have my email set up to notify me or I would have responded earlier. Thanks for the responses!

I've given up on cubase and moved to Ableton. Ableton wasn't working until I switched to outports 10/11 (like you said) as my main outs.

I can almost use this sound card but now the problem I get is white noise and distortion every time I try to play a CD or listen to an mp3. and very seldom during an Ableton session, like twice only.

I'll have to return it if I can't figure this one out... I've already bought a new PC with a clean install just because I've been having so much trouble with this card. I shouldn't be having any trouble with a clean computer and fresh new XP.
