Recording a rough mix using only Macbook Pro?

Here's where to talk about preamps, cables, microphones, monitors, etc.

Recording a rough mix using only Macbook Pro?

Post by davidhayes »

Hi Guys, looking for some assistance. I'm on the road and have a midifile open using apple soft synth. I'm trying to record it as a stereo soundfile within my Macbook Pro - but its proving difficult. I'm just looking for a dog rough version for a rehearsal.
On the road I have just Macbook Pro and DP5.12... It should be possible but i cant find the right inputs?

Thanks

You have to record your instrument track to a stereo audio track.. You do this by using an available 'stereo bus'!

Alternatively you can 'freeze' your instrument track!

Hope this helps!

Thank you doctor! I cant get a stereo bus that registers in the audio monitor window - there's nothing appearing when I arm record with the sequence in play . But, i hadn't done the freeze option. I'll go for that.

Thanks a million.
