Here you can read a lot about it. By the way, I see no reason why you shouldn't upgrade since it's free.

Yea, I'd like to know too. I read your workaround on the other thread, but those conditions do not apply to me as I don't use patch changes. Like Frodo, I still get the bursts but far less often with 5.12 than previous versions. There still seems to be no rhyme nor reason to them, and, as far as I know, they are completely beyond my control. I also have the solo/mute bleed bug, which occurs about as much as it ever did.e-snobben wrote:Strange.Frodo wrote:Yup-- the problem is still there in 5.13, but not nearly as much. I'm seeing it about once an hour rather than once every few minutes as with 5.12.Either it should appear always or not at all. But there may be several steps involved in the solving process.

I think the workaround for this will be the discovery of the 21st century whenever it appears.
I don't think MOTU ever said they could reproduce the problem, so I struggle to figure out what has happened that either 5.13 isn't doing it as often as 5.12 did (how could they fix a problem they don't have?) or-- there was something in 10.4.9- 10.4.11 that helped things along.
I'm still stuck with one other puzzle: what was it not happening at all on MOTU's systems but remains a fairly popular quirk with quite a few users?

I'd try copying the volume level once more into the sequence just before where the burst appears. It shouldn't be necessary to do so. But if it's the only way to avoid gritting my teeth I would try it. DP seems to have difficulties remembering.blue wrote: I read your workaround on the other thread, but those conditions do not apply to me as I don't use patch changes.

Too bad you don't have the ring to give you the answer. It would shure come in handy.Frodo wrote: I'm still stuck with one other puzzle: what was it not happening at all on MOTU's systems but remains a fairly popular quirk with quite a few users?

But the bursts never seem to come at the same place. If I follow your advice, I would need to put volume information at every tick in every track in anticipation of random volume bursts. And I'm not even sure that would cure it. Even if it did, I don't think it would be worth it. The bursts are much more seldom these days.e-snobben wrote:I'd try copying the volume level once more into the sequence just before where the burst appears. It shouldn't be necessary to do so.
