Please Someone Help......again
ok for some reason if I restart my Computer I can open DP 5.13 just fine.... but if I quit and try reopen it...then it gives me this BS sentence....Access Denied. Insufficient privileges for the Operation (-5000).... I have a LEGIT version of DP but when I downloaded the upgrades its started doing this.. I was told to Repair disk permissions but nothing seems to be working... I even did some weird stuff in the Terminal program.... but for some reason it only opens ONCE and its when I first restart my computer.... can anyone tell me what the Heck I did?[/i][/u]

uh oh... and running on Leopard perhaps??? There has been some zaniness regarding file permissions under Leopard... sounds like something got changed that shouldn't have. I can't offer a fix, only a caution... I ended up locking all of my hard drives to read only... I did fix it and it's been fine since, but I'm leary of toying with anything permission related under leopard. Good Luck, I'm sure someone who knows what they're doing will chime in!I even did some weird stuff in the Terminal program....
Regards, Rob

ok then... don't let me scare you about leopard... I did something I shouldn't have, (messing with users/permissions from the root drive)... it sounded like attempting to fix could have lead you to the spot I was in... Just a heads up...

You know what else is amazing... you can use the Symphonic Package and make it sound like a REAL orchestra, or maybe the Storm Drums VI and make it sound like a REAL drummer if you know how to program them properly..... but when you call MOTU tech support you actually get a Busy signal...didnt that go out in like 92'? I think Id rather be on hold for an hour than have to deal with a busy signal.. sorry for complaining LOL!

what are the permission on your copy of DP (select DP and then do a "get info".
Owner should be your account with read & write permissions
Group should be your admin group with read & write permissions
Others should have read only permission
if you get real desperate - just select your 'Applications' Folder and do a 'Get Info", open the permissions tab & hit the "Apply to enclosed items" button to propagate the permissions down to all applications.

Don't think of it as a "busy signal." THink of it as a free, looped, Classic communications sample. Some day you may need that sample!Dubstylie514 wrote:..... but when you call MOTU tech support you actually get a Busy signal...didnt that go out in like 92'? What's even worse is when I have them on redial (my phone doesn't have auto-redial) and when it actually rings, I automatically HANG UP! Start over again...

Yeah, love it Magilla.
It reminds me much of you - equal measures of Yin and Yang, and a smoov operator.
